5 Habits of Healthy, Loving Marriages
Dawn and I don't have it figured out yet and doubt we'll ever feel like we've arrived but there are a few things that we've decided help improve the odds of a couple having a good, strong, healthy, loving relationship. Taken from notes on a series of lessons taught by
Chris Havard and a
Weekend to Remember, we want to share a list we've started - please add to our list!
A successful couple:
- Has a 30 minute conference each week each person sharing (in 15 minutes):
- My concerns (no spouse feedback allowed).
- What I wish about each concern (no spouse feedback allowed)
- What I'm willing to do about each concern (dialog).
- Pray together (nightly)
- Game Night (every 2 weeks or more)
- Annual Retreat / Vacation together
- Read a book together and discuss.
We'll come back and post details about each point over the next few weeks. Please feel free to comment on this list and let me know what you believe are important "habits" of a healthy marriage.
