Solid State Drives

I posted back in June '06 about a converstation with Rob Howard regarding Vista and hybrid drives.  Dell posted recently that they are making solid state drives an option in some of their laptops right now and will soon release an option across all lines to support these drives.  Right now, the drives are pretty small and really expensive: 32Gig for $550.  Using technology math, we should see this technology be really mainstream and cheap in, what, 3 years?  I'm guessing 100 Gig and $200 in 3 years...

Check out the post about this on Direct2Dell: http://direct2dell.com/one2one/archive/2007/04/24/12726.aspx.

Dylan Ezekiel

This is a Flickr badge showing photos in a set called Zeke's Birthday.

My wife, Dawn, gave birth to our first son, fourth child on Monday, 2 April 2007 at 7:57AM.  He weighed 7lb 12oz and was 20.5" long.  He's absolutely HUGE compared to the babies we're used to having.  He has triplet sisters who each weighed in at under 3lbs.

His name is Zeke, short for Ezekiel, "strength of God."  His full name is Dylan Ezekiel. Dawn had a preterm labor scare around 23 weeks and with our history (our beautiful girls were born at just under 31 weeks), we checked into the hospital and were sent home to be on bed rest.  Dawn spent 16 more weeks on bed rest before Zeke was born at 39 weeks.

When he was first born, I was proud to see his barrel chest and round shoulders - I'm hoping he takes after his uncle, Pascal, my little brother who is 6'/210.

He had a somewhat extended stay in "baby-steps" which is the transition area of the nursery - his color and saturation was very good but his breathing rate was more rapid than the neonatologist prefers so they held onto him until around 4 and finally sent him to our room where his Mom could hold him and spend time with him.

We're excited to present him to you and we thank God for bringing him safely to us.
