I've become quite the Excel geek. When I joined Telligent, I put together an Excel workbook to help us build quality estimates and I've tweaked and retweaked, ad nauseum. I often browse the "insert function" dialog and read the function excerpts to see what's possible. Yes, I'm an Excel Geek...
More proof: recently I built a spreadsheet that would show an image based on the selected cell and included VBA to keep the image in the corner of the workbook. I'm always surprised at how easy it is to do some extremely powerful things in Excel.
Anyway - this morning I was working on an estimate revision and, while trying to ctrl+tab between two workbooks, I accidentally hit ctrl+` which activated "Formula Auditing Mode." I can't tell you how much this is going to improve my already mad Excel skillz. Ok, in actuality, I may never use it again but at least I know it's there.
Another nice Excel shortcut is ctrl+pgup / ctrl+pgdn which switches to the next / previous worksheet tab.
I'm not on Office 2k7 yet so I don't know if this has been fixed but in 2003, to my knowledge, there's no way to put each workbook in the taskbar like in word (tools->options->view->Windows in Taskbar) so when you want to have two workbooks open, I just drag my Excel MDI off to my second monitor, restore my workbook and move it to my secondary monitor and put the second on my primary. Doc Scott is going to let me know if 2007 fixes that...
Hey Robba, when are you going to let me install 2007? I'm like in the dark-ages here...
